Rathyatra - 2k25, Ahemdabad
Yesterday that is on 27th June 2025, one of the most famous and unique festival was there as you know... basically it's the festival of odisha where jagganathji resides in the puri temple, but it is celebrated nationwide with the same energy and enthusiasm.
In Gujarat, the Ahemdabad rathyatra festival is quite popular. According to the tradtion followed since years, the rath is travelled through the whole megha city and there is a huge massive rally kind of thing you know.
The rally has DJ facility, a garba dancer groups, few trucks carrying prashad for the devotees coming there for darshan of lord jagganath, few children can be seen wearing attires of different gods and goddesses, and the main thing- The Rath of prabhu jagganath, devi subhadra and lord balaram. The Rath is not as huge as that in the puri but it is huge enough for the people to get a glimpse at the beautiful diety riding inside it.
But this is not all, the rally also has elephants and horses, for what?
For entertainment.
Yess... that's the reason people actually keeps animal right?
You have a pet dog?
Yeah I was alone and bored and I don't have anyone to understand and love me. But my dog loves me a lot and I love him a lot.
You have a cow ?
For financial reasons.
You have an elephant?
So that I can use him for entertainment and earn money.
You have horses?
Just to win the bet.
Yes ofcourse, that's why God created animals right? So that they can do labour works for people or serve as an entertainment purpose.
You know what happened this years... there were 11 elephants and there was chaos and DJs and crowds of people everywhere.
It's obviously hard for any animal to tolerate this much human populations around, especially for some animals like elephant!
The elephants lost their control and started running wildly away from there... it was about to hurt people but fortunately none were hurt.
You know what's the weird thing here ?
People are not talking about why the elephant actually did that, the reason is ofcourse they themselves.
But instead they are questioning the management and the keepers of that elephant.
I mean grow up man!!
Infact, the limit was reached when I saw a woman forwarding some messages of WhatsApp groups and other social media platforms saying that, "this happened because you tried to celebrated rathyatra very cheerfully this year even after knowing about the massive loss faced by the family members of the people who lost their life in the Ahemdabad plane crash incident." She says that, "you guys could have kept mourning this year and have grief for those people." She also says that, "it's your mistake that you tried to celebrate this things and the outcome is in front of you."
Seeing this kind of mentality of people really hurts. It's like the black spot on the name of humanity.
The lady whoever she was, does not care about the animal.
Or the people who were there.
According to her we should have felt grief for whatever happened to the passengers.
Okay
Guys I personally really felt so bad for the people but the fact here is that it's not like someone killed them.
You should definitely feel sad for them and also help their families financially, emotionally and in all the possible ways but it was more like a natural accident which ultimately was all in God's hand.
All I want to say is... He introduces the life and only he can take the life.... none of your mourning and rallies could change his plannings and timings. So it's better to just live life being as happy as you can, so that you can make others happy.
